Concerts:
| James Edwards, guitarist-composer, is currently
touring a program of his original compositions which reflect
not only his background in classical music, but his wide ranging
interests in other styles, such as ragtime, jazz, Latin and
Hawaiian music. This unique and entertaining program has a little
something for all tastes. |

| James has been a performer, teacher and recording
artist for over 25 years, In addition to the traditional classical
guitar repertoire, James performs his own vibrant arrangements
of Handel, Mozart, Puccini, Debussy, Brahms and other works
by the great composers. He also has created a unique American
repertoire with treatments of well known works by Gershwin,
Rodgers, Joplin, etc. James is currently focusing on his own
compositions, blending his unique classical background with
the earlier influences of folk and jazz. |

| James is the head of guitar studies at California
State University in San Luis Obisbo, CA. He has several books
published through Mel Bay publication and 15 CD recordings featuring
his arrangements of American, Spanish and European classics.
James also plays historical instruments of the Renaissance an
Baroque periods, such as the five-course guitar and the ten-course
lute. |
